In cooperation with the University of Santiago de Compostela, the Regional Ministry of Rural Affairs of Galicia organised a participative workshop in Lalín on 15 June 2012. The workshop was facilitated by experts of the Laboraty of Land (Laborate) of the University of Santiago de Compostela. The main issue was to work on the territorial planning of the pilot project of Carrio with stakeholders of farm and forest sectors.
The workshop is one of the activities that are developed in the context of the pilot project of Carrio in Galicia. The main objective of the workshop was to identify the productive potential for farming and forestry of the area of Carrio as well as to analyze the main restrictions that reduce the value of the numerous territorial resources.
Another objective of the workshop was to innovate the approaches and methods of public participation and stakeholder involvement in the standard ways of planning.
In the following weeks, another similar workshop will be organized, in which stakeholders with other interests will participate.
